What Cult Archive currently collects and does not collect.

Information you provide

Cult Archive does not offer user accounts, checkout, comments, or a correction form. If you choose to use the email signup form, Cult Archive asks only for your email address and the required consent checkbox confirming that you agree to receive occasional Cult Archive updates by email.

The email address is normalized before it is checked or saved. Valid consented signups are stored privately in Notion with the submission time, source, consent flag, consent text version, and active status. Duplicate active submissions for the same normalized email should not create additional active records and receive the same successful signup experience.

Consent is the basis for collecting the email address. Cult Archive uses the signup record only for occasional product and website updates, not for unrelated purposes. The email is retained until consent is withdrawn or the mailing list is discontinued.

Subscribers can request removal by emailing hello@cultarchive.com.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, requests to Cult Archive can include technical information such as IP address, device/browser details, requested pages, timestamps, referrer information, and network diagnostics. The site is served through Cloudflare, which may process this information for security, routing, caching, reliability, analytics, and abuse prevention.

The live site loads Cloudflare Insights from Cloudflare. Cult Archive uses that provider-level analytics/performance script rather than an in-app Google Analytics or Google Tag Manager integration.

The email signup form also uses Cloudflare Turnstile to distinguish ordinary submissions from automated abuse. Cloudflare processes the technical request signals needed to perform that check; Cult Archive does not add the verification token or IP address to the Notion signup record.

Product-data requests

Cult Archive uses Convex to load product catalog data, filters, search results, product details, ingredients, reviews, prices, and related records. When you browse, search, filter products, or request the read-only public catalog API, the app sends the relevant route or query parameters to return the requested public product data.

The public catalog API is designed for product discovery and does not expose subscriber emails, Notion records, credentials, IP addresses, user-agent strings, or private operational fields.

Cookies and browser storage

The application source does not set custom cookies and does not write to localStorage or sessionStorage. Live response checks did not show Cult Archive setting a Set-Cookie header. Cloudflare or other infrastructure providers may still use technical mechanisms necessary to deliver, secure, measure, or troubleshoot the site.

Third parties

Current site operation involves Cloudflare for hosting/delivery, analytics/performance signals, and Turnstile abuse prevention; Convex for the product-data backend; and Notion for privately storing consented email signup records. Product pages may also link to outside brand, retailer, marketplace, image, or source pages. Those third-party sites have their own privacy practices.

Sensitive personal information

Cult Archive is an informational product catalog. The email signup asks only for an email address and consent to receive occasional updates. It does not ask for health records, pregnancy status, allergies, medical history, payment details, government IDs, or skincare information. Do not submit sensitive personal information through any public site feature.

Changes to this policy

If Cult Archive adds accounts, correction submissions, purchases, additional analytics, automated newsletter delivery, one-click unsubscribe, or other data-collecting features, this policy should be updated to describe those changes.
